COVID update 08-02-2021

There appear to have been problems with the Junta de Andalucía website today with it being offline for a while hence the late update.

As in previous weeks, the Monday figures look a little frightening as they are an update of the last 72 hours.

However, the positive news in the towns that I report on is that there are a total of 103 cured cases reported today compared to 33 last Monday which is an increase of 212%. In Los Gallardos there are 4, Turre 12, Mojácar 25, Vera 40 and Garrucha 22.

New cases across the 6 towns total 128 compared to 211 last Monday which is a decrease of 39%. In Los Gallardos there are 7, Turre 20, Mojácar 25, Vera 47 and Garrucha 29.

1 more life has been taken in Mojácar where last Monday there were none.

Here are the latest figures with Friday 5th February figures in (round brackets) and for comparison Monday 1st February in [square brackets].

Los Gallardos - Total number of cases 218 (211) [199], cured cases 132 (128) [119], active cases 83 (80) [78], and 1722.9 per 100.000 (2102) [2033.1].

Turre - Total number of cases 246 (226) [210], cured cases 141 (129) [118], active cases 103 (95) [90] and 1692.7 per 100.000 (1772) [1851.4].

Mojácar - Total number of cases 518 (493) [461], cured cases 270 (245) [212], active cases 236 (237) [242] and1622.9 per 100.000 (1873.7) [2449.1].

Vera - Total number of cases 1254 (1207) [1095], cured cases 804 (764) [665], active cases 436 (429) [419] and 1694.5 per 100.000 (17141.6) [1776.9].

Garrucha - Total number of cases 536 (507) [460], cured cases 314 (292) [253], active cases 219 (212) [205] and 1649.2 per 100.000 (1712.2) [1754.2].

Bédar - Total number of cases 22 (22) [21], cured cases 12 (12) [11], active cases 10 (10) [10] and 711.4 per 100.000 (711.4) [609.8].

Overall, as per my post on Saturday, this is encouraging news as all of the numbers of cases per 100.000 population have dropped with the exception of Bédar which remains the same.

Needless to say, the rules still apply.
