As we arrive at the last day of April, the news from the Junta de Andalucía website today is that Los Gallardos ends the week as it started with 1 more new case making a total of 6 new cases in the last 5 days. No cured cases have been reported for almost 2 weeks. The figure per 100.000 population in the last fourteen days has increased from 206.8 to 241.2, a level which we have not see since Monday 19th April. We now have 7 cases registered in the last 14 days and 6 in the last 7. Here are the latest figures for Los Gallardos with yesterday’s figures in (brackets). Total number of cases 271 (270), cured cases 258 (258), active cases 9 (8), deaths 4 (4) and 241.2 per 100.000 (207). Here are the latest figures from the other towns that I used to report on with Friday 16th April figures in (brackets). The Junta de Andalucía website today reports in the last 24 hours there are no changes in the figures for Los Gallardos. The figure per 100.000 population in the last fourteen days remains at 206.8 and we still have 6 cases registered in the last 14 days and 5 in the last 7. Here are the latest figures for Los Gallardos with yesterday’s figures in (brackets). Total number of cases 270 (270), cured cases 258 (258), active cases 8 (8), deaths 4 (4) and 206.8 per 100.000 (206.8. So far this week Los Gallardos has recorded 5 new cases, Turre have not recorded any, Mojácar have 2, Vera 4 and Garrucha and Bédar zero. Stay safe everybody.

The Junta de Andalucía website today reports that for the third consecutive day Los Gallardos has more new cases. 2 more new cases have been added to the total taking it to 270 since the start of the pandemic with 8 cases being currently active. No more cured cases have been reported. The figure per 100.000 population in the last fourteen days has increased from 137.8 to 206.8 and we have 6 cases registered in the last 14 days and 5 in the last 7. Mobility is allowed between the 8 provinces of Andalusia

Perimeter closure of the autonomous community (you will not be able to enter or leave Andalusia without just cause) | Perimeter closure of municipalities with an incidence greater than 500 cases / 100,000 inhabitants. (You will need an assessment from the expert committee in towns with less than 5,000 inhabitants).

The curfew is maintained between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The business hours will be until 10:30 p.m., with no exceptions due to the district's alert level (hospitality customers can stay for dinner until 11 p.m.)

Meetings of a maximum of six people (four maximum at indoor hospitality tables).

Closure of non-essential activity in municipalities with an incidence greater than 1,000 cases / 100,000 inhab. (In towns with less than 5,000 inhabitants, it needs an evaluation by the territorial committee).

* These measures will be in effect until May 9, when the state of alarm ends"

El horario de los comercios será hasta las 22.30 horas, sin excepciones por motivo de nivel de alerta del distrito (los clientes de hostelería podrán permanecer cenando hasta las 23.00 hrs.)

Reuniones de un máximo de seis personas (cuatro máximo en mesas de hostelería en interiores).

Cierre de actividad no esencial en municipios con incidencia mayor de 1.000 casos/100.000 hab. (en pueblos de menos de 5.000 habitantes necesita una evaluación del comité territorial).

The Junta de Andalucía website today reports it is another bad COVID day for Los Gallardos because 2 more new cases have been recorded and there are zero cured cases. The number of active cases has therefore increased to 6. The figure per 100.000 population in the last fourteen days has increased back to 137.8, where it was on Friday, and we have 4 cases registered in the last 14 days and 3 in the last 7. The Junta de Andalucía website has been updated early today and reports that in the last 72 hours Los Gallardos has 1 new case and zero cured case. The number of active cases has therefore increased to 4. The figure per 100.000 population in the last fourteen days has dropped from 137.8 to 103.4 and we have 3 cases registered in the last 14 days and 1 in the last 7. Los Gallardos Friday Figures

With just 1 new case being recorded this week and 10 cured cases, the blue and orange lines are getting closer.

The green active cases line is now lower than it was in December so overall it is good news for Los Gallardos. Elsewhere this week, Mojácar has recorded 3 new cases, Vera 13 and Garrucha 8. In total Almería has had 764 new cases in the last 7 days compared to 932 the week before, and 21 lives have been lost compared to 6 the week before. I think it is safe to say that we all know the virus is still out there and although the figures for Los Gallardos are very encouraging we have to continue to be on our guard and do what is asked of us. The Junta de Andalucía website today reports that in the last 24 hours Los Gallardos has zero new cases for the fourth consecutive day. The number of cured cases has increased by 1 so the number of active cases drops to 3.

The figure per 100.000 population in the last fourteen days has dropped from 206.8 to 137.8 as we now have 4 cases registered in the last 14 days and just 1 in the last 7 days.

The Junta de Andalucía website today reports that in the last 24 hours Los Gallardos has zero new cases and zero cured cases and therefore the number of active cases remains at 12 for the third day.

The figure per 100.000 population in the last fourteen days has dropped from 241.2 to 206.8 as we now have 6 cases registered in the last 14 days and just 1 in the last 7 days.

The figure per 100.000 population in the last fourteen days has also not changed, remaining at 241.2 and we still have 7 cases registered in the last 14 days but one less in the last 7 days, now at 2. Los Gallardos Friday Figures

 Looking at the graph for the Los Gallardos Friday Figures we see this week that the blue new cases line is starting to level out again but has risen due to the 4 new cases in the last 7 days.

The brown cured cases line has climbed more positively as a result of the 8 cured cases.

The green active cases line, after spiking a little bit last week, is heading once again in the right direction too dropping down to 12, lower than two weeks ago.

The number of active cases has dropped to 12, the lowest it has been since 30th March. The figure per 100.000 population in the last fourteen days has dropped from 275.7 to 241.2 as we now have 7 cases registered in the last 14 days and 3 in the last 7. The Junta de Andalucía website today reports that in the last 24 hours Los Gallardos has no new cases and 2 more cured cases. The number of active cases has dropped to 13, the lowest it has been since 31st March. The figure per 100.000 population in the last fourteen days remains at 275.7 as we still have 8 cases registered in the last 14 days and 5 in the last 7. Incidentally, the other towns that I used to report on also have zero new cases in the last 24 hours. Mojácar has recorded 1 more cured case, Vera 5, Garrucha 2 and Bédar 1. Bédar now has zero active cases.
Hopefully, now two weeks on since Maundy Thursday, the worries of a spike in the figures for Los Gallardos may be over. My fingers are crossed on that one anyway. With no update from the Junta de Andalucía website yesterday due to technical reasons, today it reports that in the last 48 hours Los Gallardos has just 1 new case and no more cured cases.

The figure per 100.000 population in the last fourteen days has dropped from 379 to 275.7 and we now have 8 cases registered in the last 14 days and 5 in the last 7.

No COVID update Tuesday 13th April 2021

According to the website of the Andalusian Institute of Statistics and Cartography the Junta de Andalucía webpage will not be updated today for technical reasons. Tomorrow, 2 cases will be taken off our 14 day list taking us down to 9 cases per 100.000 population. This means that any more than 5 new cases tomorrow and Thursday could mean that perimeter lockdown will be implemented again. Stay safe everybody.

The Junta de Andalucía website reports that since Friday Los Gallardos has 3 new cases and 5 cured cases. The figure per 100.000 population in the last fourteen days has risen to 379, the highest it has been since Friday 26th February. Los Gallardos Friday Figures

 Here is a graph showing the Los Gallardos Friday figures from the end of 2020 to yesterday.

Sadly there has been a change of trend over the last 2 weeks with the blue total number of cases line climbing and the orange cured cases line not following it. The green active cases line has also risen a little in the last couple of weeks but thankfully not to anywhere near where it was at the end of January.

COVID update 09-04-2021

The Junta de Andalucía website reports today that the province of Almería has exceeded 50,000 cases since March 2020 with 50,234. 40,301 cases have been cured and 769 lives have been lost to the virus. Los Gallardos has had a bit of a “yo-yo” week with numbers going up and down. In the last 24 hours 1 new case has been reported and 2 more have been cured. We now have 9 cases registered in the last 14 days and 3 in the last 7. The figure per 100.000 population in the last fourteen days has again increased to 310.1, where it was on Wednesday, from 275.7 where it was on Monday and Thursday. We end the week with 2 more new cases and 2 more cured cases than we had on Monday and therefore return to 16 active.  The Junta de Andalucía website reports that today Los Gallardos has no new cases and no more cured cases in the last 24 hours. Most strangely it reports that we have one case less than yesterday!

We now have 8 cases registered in the last 14 days and 3 in the last 7, which means the figure per 100.000 population in the last fourteen days has dropped from 310.1 to 275.7. Desde la Consejería de Salud de la Junta de Andalucía nos informan de que a partir de hoy están siendo llamadas y citadas para ser vacunadas en la localidad de Vera en el "Recinto Ferial El Palmeral", las personas nacidas los años 1.943, 1.944 y 1.945.

Las personas que no hayan sido citadas pueden llamar al teléfono facilitado por la Consejería de Salud 662976613 o acudir al Centro de Salud de nuestro municipio.

From the Ministry of Health of the Junta de Andalucía they inform us that as of today people born in 1943, 1944 and 1945 are being called and summoned to be vaccinated in the town of Vera in the "El Palmeral Fairgrounds". .

The Junta de Andalucía website reports that our fears of more cases being reported in Los Gallardos were unnecessary, well for today anyway, as there are no new cases and no more cured cases in the last 24 hours.

We now have 9 cases registered in the last 14 days and 3 in the last 7, which means the figure per 100.000 population in the last fourteen days has dropped from 344.6 to 310.1.
