Clarification

Good morning everybody.

I have been asked by several people for clarification of what is / what is not happening today and will we be able to go out from Saturday?

Starting with the "will we be able to go out" question, in the words of comedian Micky Flanagan, there is a chance that we will be able to "go out" but we will not be able to "go out out". If you do not know Micky's routine then please ignore this paragraph and I will move on.

Over the last few weeks our local towns have been categorised as being in Level 4, tier 1 or 2.

Level 4 tier 1 are towns with between 500 and 1,000 new cases reported in the last 14 days per 100,000 population.

The restrictions in this category are that the perimeters are closed but non-essential businesses can open.

Level 4 tier 2 are towns with over 1,000 new cases reported in the last 14 days per 100,000 population.

The restrictions in this category are that the perimeters are closed and non-essential businesses cannot open.

So, if today the 1,000 per 100,000 figure for Los Gallardos is below 1,000 (currently at 999.3) then there is a chance that we will be able to go out to bars in Los Gallardos.

If the figure goes above 1,000 then non-essential businesses should remain closed.

Only when the figure per 100,000 drops below 500 will the perimeter be open and we be able to go out of Los Gallardos.

"What is happening today?" refers to meetings that may or may not be happening in which our "fate" will be decided.

It has been reported that today there is a meeting of the Territorial Committee on High Impact Public Health Alerts and not a committee meeting at the Autonomous Level which has been held in previous weeks.

Therefore, I guess it is depending on today's figures for the committee to decide what happens in each town.

Finally, any references to orange, green or red zones you have read are nothing to do with the Junta de Andalucía classification of towns. They are proprietary to Brian White's league table.

I hope this has been of interest to you and has cleared up any confusion.
