COVID update 01-02-2021

Hello everybody,

I have quite a long update for you today to not only bring you the current figures from the Junta de Andalucía website but also to share figures with you from back in December and also to confirm the current rules and regulations.

The rules that came in to force on Sunday 17th January have not changed and will remain in place until 00:00 15th February at the earliest. The rules are:
1) Maintain the perimeter closure of Andalucía.
2) Closure of hospitality, shops and similar at 18:00.
3) Reduce the maximum number of people in social meetings to 4.
4) Perimeter closure of the 8 provinces.
5) Perimeter closure of municipalities with accumulated incidence in 14 days greater than 500 per 100,000 population.
6) Complete closure of hospitality, leisure establishments and non essential businesses in municipalities with an incidence greater than 1,000 per 100,000 population.
7) Curfew from 22:00 until 06:00.

With the exception of Bédar, all of the towns I report on are in the “more than 1,000 cases per 100,000 population” category (level 4 tier 2) so all of the perimeters are closed. Therefore you are not allowed to leave Los Gallardos unless for specific essential reasons such as (but not limited to) medical and legal.

In addition, you are recommended to wash your hands frequently, the wearing of face masks is mandatory (which are designed to cover the nose and mouth and not just for keeping your chin warm) and to maintain social distancing.

Monday’s figures always see a big increase due to there being no updates over the weekend.

The following towns have cured cases: Los Gallardos 1, Turre 2, Vera 26, Garrucha 3 and Bédar 1.

The following towns have new cases: Los Gallardos 20, Turre 18, Mojácar 37, Vera 71, Garrucha 60 and Bédar 5.
