COVID update 05-03-2021

Hi everybody. Before I get to today’s figures I want to let you know that this will be my last regular COVID update. I have been doing 5 updates per week since November and what were originally short posts about Los Gallardos have grown in to more comprehensive breakdowns of what is happening not only in Los Gallardos but also across our neighbouring towns. As you can probably appreciate, they do take time to prepare and publish, not only on Facebook but also on https://huertanueva.blogspot.com and I have managed to do them alongside of working which has become more difficult in recent weeks. As we now enter a new phase of “normal” and our business is getting busier I need to focus on that, so unless something happens affecting us all then I will sign out with this post today. I will however continue to share posts I see that I feel are relative to the forum members. I know from the responses and messages I have received that my updates have been welcomed and appreciated by many of you. As for your questions on the forum and also private messages and in person, I have tried to answer them the best I can and if I could not then I hope I sent you in the right direction to get them answered. So, without further ado, 51 weeks after the first lockdown started, here is your daily update. The Junta de Andalucía website today reports in Almería 142 new cases (127 yesterday), 399 cured cases (222 yesterday) and no deaths (8 yesterday) in the last 24 hours. The rate per 100.000 population has dropped from 242.3 to 236.6 7 new cases have been recorded in the six towns that I report on. Los Gallardos has 1, Mojácar 4, Vera 1 and Garrucha 1. 31 cured cases have been recorded. Los Gallardos has 3, Turre 1, Mojácar 1, Vera 24 and Garrucha 2. As a result of the new case in Los Gallardos the infection rate per 100.000 population in the last 14 days has increased to 172.3. Here are the latest figures with yesterday’s figures in (brackets). Los Gallardos - Total number of cases 244 (243), cured cases 220 (217), active cases 20 (22), deaths 4 (4) and 172.3 per 100.000 (137.8). Turre - Total number of cases 263 (263), cured cases 195 (194), active cases 65 (66), deaths 3 (3) and 105.8 per 100.000 (132.2). Mojácar - Total number of cases 545 (541), cured cases 377 (376), active cases 153 (150), deaths 15 (15) and 206 per 100.000 (453). Vera - Total number of cases 1471 (1470), cured cases 1280 (1256), active cases 171 (194), deaths 20 (20) and 423.6 per 100.000 (453). Garrucha - Total number of cases 620 (619), cured cases 472 (470), active cases 143 (144), deaths 5 (5) and 304.6 per 100.000 (315.1). Bédar - Total number of cases 29 (29), cured cases 26 (26), active cases 3 (3), deaths 0 (0) and 101.6 per 100.000 (101.6). Have a good weekend and stay safe everybody.
