COVID update Friday 18th June 2021

The end of another week and 66 weeks since the Friday night when police were driving around Vera telling people to “go home and stay home”. In that period of time, the Junta de Andalucía website reports that Almería province has recorded 55,494 positive cases of COVID-19, of which 53,933 have been cured. Sadly 836 people have lost their lives to the virus and there are currently 725 active cases. There have been no new cases recorded in the last 24 hours in Los Gallardos, Turre, Mojácar, Garrucha or Bédar. However, Vera has recorded 1 more making their total this week 16. The figures for Los Gallardos are: Total number of cases 271, cured cases 267, cases recorded in the last 14 days 0, cases recorded in the last 7 days 0, active cases 0, deaths 4 and 0 per 100.000. 39 new cases have been recorded in the Almería province in the last 24 hours compared to 48 yesterday, 49 last Friday and 52 on Friday 4th June. In the last 7 days 277 new cases have been recorded in our province compared to 254 last Friday. The last new case in Los Gallardos was recorded on Friday 30th April and we have had zero active cases since 18th May.
