Cameras

Images of two of the new cameras that have been installed on the "oblongabout" at the entrance to Huerta Nueva and Calle Molino.

The 360° camera is on Calle Molino side and the fixed camera is on the Huerta Nueva side.
Please do not let this be an opportunity to talk about the bins at the bottom of Avenida Huerta Nueva as we are all aware that there needs to be one there as are the Town Hall.
There are others to be installed and I have been told that there should be one on every entrance / exit to Los Gallardos.
Poco a poco - Rome was not built in a day.

"INFORMATION
From this town hall we are aware of the complicated situation in our municipality, as well as many of our neighbouring towns, the rest of the province and our entire Autonomous Community
We reiterate once again that we maintain permanent, direct and close contact with all the Official Bodies competent in matters of the pandemic, such as the Delegation of Health, the Department of Education. Sub delegation of the Government and Delegation of the Government, and our responsibility is to adhere to the indications of these organizations. Despite the concern for our children, to date we have not received instructions that our Educational Centres should be closed, since, this like many others, is not a municipal decision
For our part and within our competencies we are doing everything possible and we are not skimping on resources to face this third wave that haunts us.
We continue with the disinfection work, garbage collection, as well as with the distribution of food, medicines and procedures for medical registration and discharge, aided by Civil Protection, our Local Police is establishing work shifts to be aware of any incidents that may arise, in addition to being in direct and permanent contact with all the neighbours and checking in person that those affected do not skip the indicated confinements. On the other hand, on January 4, we asked the Government Sub delegation for Civil Guard reinforcements to reinforce the work of the Local Police, which is already being effective, but we must be aware that many municipalities require such reinforcements.
We are very aware of the concerns of the neighbours, we also as neighbours of the people, we suffer in the first person the doubts and fear that invade us, but it is also true that the future of all depends on the “individual responsibility of each one.” We call for calm and common sense, and be aware that if we do not it is useless to look for guilty, this war we must win it all together.
We are a committed and active Government Team, we want to convey our concern, but we also want to transmit calm and tranquillity and let you know that we have won several battles and we will win this war with everyone's effort.

COVID-19 update for residents of Huerta Nueva.

From 17th January things changed and new regulations came in to force.

According to the infection rate of your town (500 or 1,000 infections in the last 14 days per 100,000 population) you will either find the perimeter of your town closed or the perimeter of your town closed AND non essential businesses closed.

Here are the two lists of the towns that were affected by the new legislation that came into force on Sunday 17th. These were based on the figures from Friday 15th January. There are new current figures posted below.

The list of "between 500 and 1.000 cases per 100.000 population" are the municipalities where the perimeters were closed.

The list of "more than 1.000 cases per 100.000 population" are the municipalities where the perimeters were closed and in addition to that hostelries and non-essential businesses were also closed, and if the Government authorizes it, there could be home confinement.

Los Gallardos currently has 1.324 cases per 100.000 population so it has a long way to go before its perimeters will be opened again. (This figure has been taken from the Junta de Andalucía website last update 15/01/2021).

COVID update 18-01-2021.

I think it is with no surprise that we see higher numbers today on the Junta de Andalucía website. Sadly, since Friday, the only positive number in the towns that I report on is Vera, with 1 more case cured. All other towns report no cured cases.

Due to the lockdowns being determined on the number of cases per 100.000 population in the last 14 days, today I will include the number per 100.000 population.

Los Gallardos - Total number of cases 142 (an increase since Friday of 11), 61 active and 1574.8 per 100.000 (an increase of 250.4).

Turre - Total number of cases 133 (an increase of 6), 33 active and 563.5 per 100.000 (an increase of 169) which puts Turre in to the "between 500 & 1.000 cases" category.

Mojácar - Total number of cases 286 (an increase of 44), 119 active and 1671.1 per 100.000 (an increase of 577.9).

Vera - Total number of cases 754 (an increase of 66), 232 active and 1167 per 100.000 (an increase of 328.2).

Garrucha - Total number of cases 289 (an increase of 25), 91 active and 944.4 per 100.000 (an increase of 271.4).

Bédar - Total number of cases 15 (an increase of 3), 6 active and 617.9 per 100.000 (an increase 308.9) which put Bédar in the "between 500 & 1.000 cases" category.

Other than 1 cured case there is no good news here and I am sorry for that but I am just bringing you the numbers.

As I said on Friday, never has there been a more important time to obey the rules. Not only is non compliance of the rules putting peoples lives at risk, it is also affecting again peoples jobs, businesses and incomes.

PLEASE - Wear a mask, keep social distancing and remember that there is a curfew from 22:00 until 06:00 and that Los Gallardos perimeter is closed.

Stay safe.
